Doctor Lisa M. Tait, Founder and CEO of Women of Destiny Ministries. Upon matriculating through the Baltimore City Public School System, she was admitted to Howard University in Washington, D.C at the age of sixteen.
Immediately upon receiving her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, she furthered her education at the American University in Washington, D.C. where she obtained her Master of Arts degree in General Psychology. Shortly after beginning work on the Ph.D. in Personality Psychology at Howard University, she received the "call to ministry" and has subsequently completed the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees at the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
Reverend Dr. Lisa M. Tait currently serves as Co-Pastor of the Imani Christian Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where her husband Dr. Lewis T. Tait, Jr. serves as Pastor. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia and an Advocacy Supervisor for DeKalb County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). This national organization advocates for the rights of abused and neglected children. She has held positions such as: Program Director for the state of Georgia's Parents Network for Better Education; General Manager, Gospel Today Magazine; CEO/Founder of KID'S P.A.L., Member of the Charter School Appeal Board for the State of Pennsylvania; Director of Educational Initiatives for the Harambee Community Development Corporation; Independent Contract Therapist for Bethany Counseling Ministries; Consultant and Trainer, Center for Education Reform in Washington, D.C.; Religious Programs Chaplain at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania; Director of Family & Social Ministries at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, Washington, D.C.; Counselor and Adjunct Professor at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland and Minister of Christian Education, Minister of Pastoral Care & Counseling and Director of the Customer Service and Job Training Institute at the Victory Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She authored "Women of Destiny: Five Principles for Pursuing Your Purpose in God," Authorhouse, 2005, and has served as a contributor to “Seeds of Strength,” Carter & Davis, Eds., Gateway Press, Inc., 1997, and "Those Preaching Women: A Multicultural Collection," Mitchell & Bridgemann, Eds., Judson Press, Inc., 2008.
Reverend Dr. Lisa M. Tait and Reverend Dr. Lewis T. Tait, Jr. are the proud parents of Essence Ayana Tait and Lewis Thomas Asante Tait, III.
